- charset [UTF-8] ( ISO-8859-1 | US-ASCII | UTF-8 | UTF-16 | UTF-16LE | windows-1252 )

Should your domain objects be converted to XML, this attribute allows you to set the charset of the XML document declaration.

For example:

If charset="ISO-8859-1"

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<Employee>
    <FirstName>John</FirstName>
</Employee>

if charset="UTF-8"

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<Employee>
    <FirstName>John</FirstName>
</Employee>
